In 1999, a few motorcycle enthusiasts got together and discussed what they could do to give back to the community.  Something they felt strongly about was the fight against breast cancer.  They decided to combine the two and created the Breast Cancer Pledge Ride (BCPR).  Their mandate:  to make a difference in the health of Manitobans .

There were already many groups raising money for research and awareness, but there were other aspects that needed to be addressed.  There is education, equipment, transportation, etc.  These are equally important and it is in these areas that BCPR would focus their efforts.
